The species Bacillus beveridgei was originally described by Baesman et al. 2009. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 135 in 2010. In 2020, Gupta et al. established Bacillus beveridgei as the basonym of
Salisediminibacterium beveridgei (Baesman et al. 2010) Gupta et al. 2020
