Nomenclatural History

The species Bacillus methylotrophicus was originally described and validly published by Madhaiyan et al. 2010. Dunlap et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens plantarum Borriss et al. 2011
in 2015. Dunlap et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Bacillus velezensis Ruiz-García et al. 2005
in 2016.
