Nomenclatural History
The species Lysinibacillus odysseyi was originally described and validly published by Jung et al. 2012. Jung et al. formed this name in 2012 by placing the species La Duc et al. 2004 into the genus Ahmed et al. 2007 emend. Gupta and Patel 2019. In 2019, Gupta and Patel established as the basonym of (La Duc et al. 2004) Gupta and Patel 2019 .

Tindall 2019 asserts that one of the nomenclatural type deposits is a patent strain.
