The phylum Armatimonadetes was originally proposed by Tamaki et al. 2011. This name was validly published by Oren and Garrity 2021. Whitman et al. corrected this name from Armatimonadetes (sic) to Armatimonadota .
Formerly Candidate phylum OP10.
