Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Mycobacterium abscessus bolletii was originally described and validly published by Leao et al. 2011. Tortoli et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2016. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. In 2011, Leao et al. reduced Adékambi et al. 2006 to the rank of subspecies. In 2018, Gupta et al. established as the basonym of (Adékambi et al. 2006) Gupta et al. 2018 .
