Nomenclatural History	Upon validation, this name was corrected from Actinoplanes ianthinogenes octamycini (sic) to Actinoplanes ianthinogenes octamycinicus . The subspecies Actinoplanes ianthinogenes octamycinicus was originally described by Gauze et al. 1979. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2011 the name was revived and validly published by Tamura et al.. Tamura et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name Actinoplanes octamycinicus Tamura et al. 2011 in 2011.
