The species Nonlabens xylanidelens was originally described by Yi and Chun 2012. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 146 in 2012. Yi and Chun formed this name in 2012 by placing the species O'Sullivan et al. 2006 emend. Nedashkovskaya et al. 2009 into the genus Lau et al. 2005 emend. Yi and Chun 2012.
