The species Arcobacter bivalviorum was originally described by Levican et al. 2012. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 147 in 2012. In 2018, Pérez-Cataluña et al. established as the basonym of corrig. (Levican et al. 2012) Pérez-Cataluña et al. 2019 .
