Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Desulfovibrio oceani oceani was originally described by Finster and Kjeldsen 2010. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 148 in 2012. In 2010, Finster and Kjeldsen reduced Finster and Kjeldsen 2012 to the rank of subspecies. In 2017, Shivani et al. established as the basonym of (Finster and Kjeldsen 2012) Shivani et al. 2017 .
