Nomenclatural History
The species Komagataeibacter xylinus was originally described by Yamada et al. 2012. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 149 in 2013. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Yamada et al. formed this name in 2012 by placing the species (Brown 1886) Yamada et al. 1998 into the genus Yamada et al. 2013.
