Nomenclatural History
The species Mycobacterium yongonense was originally described and validly published by Kim et al. 2013. In 2018, Castejon et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Kim et al. 2013) Castejon et al. 2018 . Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Tortoli et al. 2004 in 2018.
