Nomenclatural History

The species Gemmobacter changlensis was originally described and validly published by Chen et al. 2013. Chen et al. formed this name in 2013 by placing the species
Catellibacterium changlense (Anil Kumar et al. 2007) Zheng et al. 2011
into the genus Gemmobacter Rothe et al. 1988 emend. Kang et al. 2017. In 2015, Suresh et al. established Gemmobacter changlensis as the basonym of
Cereibacter changlensis (Anil Kumar et al. 2007) Suresh et al. 2015 emend. Hördt et al. 2020
.
Hameed et al. 2020 disagree with the placement of this species in Cereibacter, and maintain that it belongs in Gemmobacter.
