Nomenclatural History
The species Senegalemassilia anaerobia was originally described by Lagier et al. 2013. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 155 in 2014. Upon validation, this name was corrected from (sic) to . Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Han et al. in 2020.
