Nomenclatural History
The species Chlamydia caviae was originally described by Sachse et al. 2015. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Sachse et al. formed this name in 2015 by placing the species Everett et al. 1999 into the genus Jones et al. 1945 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Sachse et al. 2015.
