The species Paenibacillus dauci was originally described by Zhu et al. 2015. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 165 in 2015. Sant'Anna et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Jiang et al. 2015 emend. Sant'Anna et al. 2019 in 2019.
