Nomenclatural History

The species Paraburkholderia sediminicola was originally described by Sawana et al. 2014. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 165 in 2015. Vanwijnsberghe et al. published an emended description of this species in 2021. Sawana et al. formed this name in 2014 by placing the species
Burkholderia sediminicola Lim et al. 2008
into the genus Paraburkholderia Sawana et al. 2015 emend. Dobritsa and Samadpour 2016.
