Nomenclatural History

The species Sulfuriferula plumbiphila was originally described and validly published by Watanabe et al. 2015. Watanabe et al. corrected this name from Sulfuriferula plumbophilus (sic) to Sulfuriferula plumbiphila . Kojima et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Watanabe et al. formed this name in 2015 by placing the species
Thiobacillus plumbophilus Drobner et al. 1992
into the genus Sulfuriferula Watanabe et al. 2015.
