Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Mycobacterium abscessus massiliense was originally described and validly published by Tortoli et al. 2016. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2018. In 2016, Tortoli et al. reduced Adékambi et al. 2006 to the rank of subspecies. In 2018, Gupta et al. established as the basonym of (Adékambi et al. 2006) Gupta et al. 2018 .
