The species Jeotgalibacillus terrae was originally described and validly published by Srinivas et al. 2016. This name replaces the name Chen et al. 2010 non Jeotgalibacillus soli Cunha et al. 2012 .

Jeotgalibacillus terrae replaces the illegitimate name Jeotgalibacillus soli Chen et al. 2010 non Jeotgalibacillus soli Cunha et al. 2012.
