Nomenclatural History	The species Halodesulfovibrio oceani was originally described and validly published by Shivani et al. 2017. In 2017, Shivani et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Halodesulfovibrio oceani oceani (Finster and Kjeldsen 2012) Shivani et al. 2017 . Shivani et al. formed this name in 2017 by placing the species Desulfovibrio oceani Finster and Kjeldsen 2012 into the genus Halodesulfovibrio Shivani et al. 2017.
