Nomenclatural History
The species Thermoflexibacter ruber was originally described by Hahnke et al. 2016. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 175 in 2017. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Hahnke et al. formed this name in 2016 by placing the species Lewin 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Hahnke et al. 2017.
