Nomenclatural History

The species Enterococcus xinjiangensis was originally described by Ren et al. 2016. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 196 in 2020. Li and Gu established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Enterococcus lactis Morandi et al. 2012 emend. Li and Gu 2019
in 2019.
