Nomenclatural History
The species Sphingorhabdus contaminans was originally described and validly published by Yang et al. 2017. Yang et al. formed this name in 2017 by placing the species Subhash et al. 2014 into the genus Jogler et al. 2013 emend. Feng et al. 2020.

This new combination also appeared in Chen et al. 2018, but it had already been Validly Published by Yang et al. 2017.
