Nomenclatural History
The species Sphingomonas carotinifaciens was originally described and validly published by Madhaiyan et al. 2017. Madhaiyan et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Madhaiyan et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Xue et al. 2018 non Sphingomonas aeria Park et al. 2015 in 2020.
