Nomenclatural History	The species Mycobacteroides chelonae was originally described by Gupta et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 181 in 2018. Gupta et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Mycobacterium chelonae corrig. Bergey et al. 1923 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 into the genus Mycobacteroides Gupta et al. 2018.
