Nomenclatural History

The genus Libanicoccus was originally proposed by Bilen et al. 2017. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 181 in 2018.
The syllabification and etymology must be adjusted as follows: (Li.ba.ni.coc'cus. French n. Liban the French word for Lebanon; N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. masc. n. kokkos grain, seed) a coccus; N.L. masc. n. Libanicoccus, intended to mean a coccus isolated by a person from Lebanon. The sentence "Type strain Libanicoccus massiliensis strain Marseille-P3237T (=CSUR P3237=CCUG 71182)" belongs to the protologue of the type species and must be deleted from the protologue of the genus.
