Nomenclatural History	The species Desulfohalotomaculum tongense was originally described and validly published by Watanabe et al. 2018. Watanabe et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Desulfotomaculum tongense Cha et al. 2014 into the genus Desulfohalotomaculum Watanabe et al. 2018. In 2020, Watanabe et al. established Desulfohalotomaculum tongense as the basonym of Desulforadius tongensis (Cha et al. 2014) Watanabe et al. 2021 .
