Nomenclatural History
The species Adlercreutzia caecicola was originally described by Nouioui et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 184 in 2018. Nouioui et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Clavel et al. 2013 into the genus Maruo et al. 2008 emend. Stoll et al. 2021.

Stoll et al. 2021 assert that the correct name for of this species is Parvibacter caecicola, based on further genomic studies.
