Nomenclatural History
The species Lentzea atacamensis was originally described by Nouioui et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 184 in 2018. Teo et al. published an emended description of this species in 2021. Nouioui et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Okoro et al. 2010 into the genus Labeda et al. 1984 emend. Labeda and Lechevalier 1989. Teo et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Okoro et al. 2010) Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2021.
