The species Ruminiclostridium cellulolyticum was originally described and validly published by Zhang et al. 2018. Zhang et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Petitdemange et al. 1984 into the genus Zhang et al. 2018 non Ruminiclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013.
