Nomenclatural History
The species Aliarcobacter cibarius was originally described by Pérez-Cataluña et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 191 in 2020. Pérez-Cataluña et al. formed this name in 2018 by placing the species Houf et al. 2005 into the genus Pérez-Cataluña et al. 2020.

Frontiers in Microbiology changed the spelling of this genus from Aliiarcobacter to Aliarcobacter after publication.
