Nomenclatural History
The species Mediterraneibacter massiliensis was originally described by Togo et al. 2018. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 185 in 2019. This name replaces the name Togo et al. 2016 .

The original protolog contained an error in the strain equivalence. A revised protolog was subsequently published as a correction.
