Proper Form
| Peptoclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013 non Peptoclostridium Galperin et al. 2016 |
Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Peptoclostridium was originally proposed by Yutin and Galperin 2013. Yutin and Galperin established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Peptoclostridium Galperin et al. 2016 non Peptoclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013
in 2013.
Although Yutin and Galperin 2013 provided a description for this genus, it cannot be Validly Published because the type species Peptoclostridium difficile was not formally proposed. Peptoclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013 therefore has no standing in nomenclature. Galperin et al. 2016 later proposed a genus with the same name, based on a different type species.
