Proper Form
| Ruminiclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013 non Ruminiclostridium Zhang et al. 2018 |
Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Ruminiclostridium was originally proposed by Yutin and Galperin 2013. Yutin and Galperin established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Ruminiclostridium Zhang et al. 2018 non Ruminiclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013
in 2013.
Although Yutin and Galperin 2013 provided a description for this genus, it cannot be Validly Published because the type species Ruminiclostridium thermocellum was not formally proposed. Ruminiclostridium Yutin and Galperin 2013 therefore has no standing in nomenclature. Zhang et al. 2018 later proposed a genus with the same name, based on a different type species.
