Nomenclatural History
The species Bartonella mastomydis was originally described by Dahmani et al. 2019. Oren et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Dahmani et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Daly et al. 1993) Brenner et al. 1993 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 in 2018.

Mediannikov et al. 2014 is not considered to be an effective publication (poster). The first description was based on a pure culture, and the name was later effectively published with type strain.
