The species Bacillus urbisdiaboli was originally described and validly published by Liu et al. 2019. In 2020, Gupta et al. established Bacillus urbisdiaboli as the basonym of
Alkalihalobacillus urbisdiaboli (Liu et al. 2019) Gupta et al. 2020
. In 2021, Joshi et al. established Bacillus urbisdiaboli as the basonym of
Halalkalibacter urbisdiaboli (Liu et al. 2019) Joshi et al. 2022
.
