The species Aestuariisphingobium litorale was originally described by Li et al. 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 191 in 2020. Wang and Gao established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Jani et al. 2019 emend. Wang and Gao 2021 in 2021.
