Nomenclatural History
The class Actinomycetia was originally proposed and validly published by Salam et al. 2020. established as a later homotypic synonym of Krasil'nikov 1949 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2015. This name replaces the name Stackebrandt et al. 1997 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 non Actinobacteria Goodfellow 2021 .

Actinomycetia Salam et al. 2020 has the same nomenclatural type as Actinomycetes Krasil'nikov 1949 (Approved Lists 1980). Actinomycetes therefore has priority over Actinomycetia.
