The species Ureibacillus composti was originally described by Gupta and Patel 2019. Gupta and Patel formed this name in 2019 by placing the species Hayat et al. 2014 into the genus Fortina et al. 2001 emend. Gupta and Patel 2019.

This is illegitimate because it is a later homonym of Ureibacillus composti Weon et al. 2007.
