Nomenclatural History	The species Planococcus chinensis was originally described by Gupta and Patel 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 193 in 2020. Gupta and Patel formed this name in 2019 by placing the species Planomicrobium chinense Dai et al. 2005 into the genus Planococcus Migula 1894 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Gupta and Patel 2019.
