Nomenclatural History
The species Myroides aquimaris was originally described by García-López et al. 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 193 in 2020. This name replaces the name Song et al. 2013 .

A replacement epithet was chosen to avoid creating a homonym to Myroides marinus Cho et al. 2011.
