Nomenclatural History

The species Aequorivita aquimaris was originally described by García-López et al. 2019. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 193 in 2020. García-López et al. formed this name in 2019 by placing the species
Vitellibacter aquimaris Thevarajoo et al. 2016
into the genus Aequorivita Bowman and Nichols 2002 emend. Hahnke et al. 2016.
This new combination appeared on on VL 193 as (Thevarajoo et al. 2016) García-López et al. 2020. Zhang et al. 2020 and Wang et al. 2020 later published this same event.
