Lactobacillus reuteri Kandler et al. 1982
into the genus Limosilactobacillus Zheng et al. 2020. In 2021, Li et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form
Limosilactobacillus reuteri reuteri (Kandler et al. 1982) Li et al. 2021
