Nomenclatural History
The species Apilactobacillus micheneri was originally described and validly published by Zheng et al. 2020. Liu and Gu established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Chiou et al. 2018) Zheng et al. 2020 in 2020. Zheng et al. formed this name in 2020 by placing the species McFrederick et al. 2018 emend. Li et al. 2020 into the genus Zheng et al. 2020.

Liu and Gu 2020 proposed an emendation but did not change any characters of the taxon.
