The species Lentzea rhizosphaerae was originally described and validly published by Yang and Zhi 2020. Yang and Zhi formed this name in 2020 by placing the species Zhao et al. 2017 into the genus Labeda et al. 1984 emend. Labeda and Lechevalier 1989.
