The species Massilia eburnea was originally described by Lu et al. 2020. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 196 in 2020. Lu et al. formed this name in 2020 by placing the species Jin et al. 2017 into the genus La Scola et al. 2000 emend. Singh et al. 2015.
