Nomenclatural History
The species Roseovarius sediminicola was originally described by Liang et al. 2021. Liang et al. formed this name in 2021 by placing the species Ji et al. 2018 into the genus Labrenz et al. 1999 emend. Liang et al. 2021.

This new combination by Liang et al. 2021 would remove the type species of Pelagivirga. Unless a unification were being done (accounting for all Validly Published species of Pelagivirga), this would result in an illegitimate later homotypic synonym at the species level.
