The species Klebsiella electrica was originally described by Ma et al. 2022. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 208 in 2022. Ma et al. formed this name in 2022 by placing the species Kimura et al. 2014 into the genus Trevisan 1885 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Ma et al. 2021.
