Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 22 in 1986. The species Streptomyces rubrogriseus was originally described by Kurylowicz et al. 1975. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1983 the name was revived by Gause et al..
