Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces spitsbergensis was originally described and validly published by Wieczorek et al. 1993. Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of corrig. (Farina and Locci 1966) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 1997. Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium hiroshimense (Shinobu 1955) Farina and Locci 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003.
